Personal data processing principles for the Handcrafts.ch users

 


 

General provisions

We at the Handcrafts.ch take the protecting of your personal data very seriously. We take all possible measures and precautions to ensure your data is kept safe (for example by encrypting the data). We will not pass any of your data further, unless it is required from us by a legal authority or unless we have to do so to enable a trade between a seller and a buyer (for example providing a buyer's address to a seller, a buyer's account number to a buyer, and so on).

How we process your data

To provide the service, we need to process the personal data of our users. The scope of the data processing may differ depending on how you interact with the website (buyer or seller, registered or not, etc.).

There are many reasons why and ways of how we store your data. Here is a list:

Trading at Handcrafts.ch:

Our website works as a mediating service for buyers and sellers, so we need to process your data to ensure a shopping agreement between the two, complies with the legal requirements. We only access information about you from, either a registration form (if you are registered) or when checking out your shopping. The law requires us to keep the data for a period of 10 years for tax purposes.

 


 

Marketing and cookies

We may send you a newsletter, if you give us your consent, to let you know what we are up to and about new products, price offerings and other things that might be of interest to you. However, we will not give your information to a third party and at any time, with no reason, you can withdraw your consent.

We also use cookies to process your data, so for more information go to handcrafts.ch.

Email and call support

If you contact us by email or by a contact form on the handcrafts.ch/contact, we may require clear identification from you to verify the authorisation of your request. The same goes for when you call us.

We archive email communication and may record your phone call to provide a better service. The legal background for such processing is our genuine interest in providing the best service possible.

Your rights and how you can change or remove your personal information

You have a right to access any of your personal information that we process, you can ask for their removal or change and you can also withdraw your consent with their processing (for example for marketing messages). Just be aware that your withdrawal does not affect legality of any past data processing based on your previous consent.

If you are a registered user, you can log into your account at handcrafts.ch to change or update your data (you will need your username/email and password). Keep in mind that you will not be able to update some information (for example invoice number) in which case please contact us by contact form on www.handcrafts.h/contact and we'll be happy to help.

If you are not registered, you can contact us either by email [email protected] or in other ways (contact form) and we will do it for you; however, we may ask you to verify the authorisation of your request. We usually answer requests within a month but we reserve a right to prolong this period (depending on the time technical demanding nature of a request).

If you ask us to remove your personal data, we will do so with no delay. The only exception is keeping your data for legal purposes or for our own protection.

 


 

When you terminate your account:

A) Shopper's account

1. If you have purchased any items at our website, we are required to keep you data for a period of 10 years min. for tax purposes.

2. If you didn't buy anything, we will remove your data besides any data we need to operate and protect our system and network (IP address).

B) Seller's account

1. If we have processed any of your order transactions, we are required to keep you data for a period of 10 years min. for tax purposes.

2. If you didn't sell anything, we will remove your data besides any data we need to operate and protect our system and network (IP address).

Safety of your data

We keep your data on ours, or our dedicated servers at datacentre....., at the …...company. We have a contract with the company in compliance with GDPR regulations about personal data processing. We use secure protocol HTTPS when transferring any data or files. We follow necessary and according technical and organisational safekeeping of the data.
